Let go of the:
pretenses
lies you tell others
stories you tell yourself
Breathe deeply.
Look within yourself.
What is there?
What is right?
What is wrong?
What can you do about it?
Know that anything you do, you must do without attachment to the outcome of the action.
Otherwise, your expectations will interfere.
Surrender to the process.
If you cannot surrender to the process, then the loop repeats.
The suffering will continue.
Face this suffering.
As before the greatest gifts, there is the deepest suffering.
Do not hide from these uncomfortable feelings.
Embrace them.
Love them.
Hold them.
They are a part of you, even if you suffer due to acknowledging them.
Without giving them space or by trying to control what happens, you will lose:
Access to peace
Access to yourself
Access to freedom
This is the ultimate loss.
And yet, it is not something you must face.
Realize you are not your desire for control.
The wishes and wants you place over the world
Over your body
Over your mind
All of these are ultimately external to you.
If you would only slow down.
Let everything be.
Stop.
Your breath will carry on.
Your heart will beat.
The ripples of thought and emotion through you will calm.
Like a pond that previously had many drops of rain pouring down onto its surface just a moment before, the ripples may take some time to settle.
Do you judge the ripples on the pond for how long they take to reach the sides?
No.
So please do not judge the fluctuations of your mind.
It does not help.
Instead, today, create space to allow these ripples to flow to the edge of the pond.
As they must.
Put on music that helps you to tap into yourself.
Light a candle.
Sing.
Dance.
Scream.
Laugh.
Write.
Run.
Whatever you need, allow yourself the grace to give it to yourself.
